Stars College is a Candidate School for the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP), Middle Years Programme (MYP), and Diploma Programme (DP). This school is pursuing authorization as an IB World School. IB World Schools share a common philosophy—a commitment to high-quality, challenging, international education—that we believe is important for our students.
This candidacy status applies exclusively to our Abbasiyeh Campus.

Only schools authorized by the IB Organization can offer any of its four academic programmes: the Primary Years Programme (PYP), the Middle Years Programme (MYP), the Diploma Programme (DP), or the Career-related Programme (CP). The IB Educational Continuum

The IB Programme offers a comprehensive educational pathway that spans from pre-school to the secondary level, ensuring the continuous development of the student’s skills:

1. Primary Years Programme (PYP)

Ages 3–12 | Pre-School – Grade 5

The PYP focuses on the development of the child as an inquirer, both in the classroom and in the world outside. Learning takes place through play and transdisciplinary units that connect subjects, ensuring a comprehensive and integrated understanding of concepts

2. Middle Years Programme (MYP)

Ages 11–16 | Grades 6–10

The MYP aims to help students develop the knowledge, understanding, attitudes, and skills necessary to meet the challenges of our complex world. The programme is characterized by its focus on interdisciplinary connections, the development of Approaches to Learning (ATL) skills, and the completion of the Personal Project, which fosters independence and responsibility

3. Diploma Programme (DP)

Ages 16–19 | Grades 11–12

The DP is a rigorous and intensive academic programme that ideally prepares students for global universities. Students study six subject groups, in addition to three core elements: Theory of Knowledge (TOK)Extended Essay (EE), and Creativity, Activity, Service (CAS).

Why Choose the IB Programme?

IB Learner Profile

The IB Learner Profile describes a set of ten attributes that guide the personal and academic growth of all learners in IB World Schools. These traits reflect the values, attitudes, and skills students need to thrive in school and in a global society. They promote respect for self and others, responsible behavior, and a deeper understanding of the world.

Each IB programme—PYP, MYP, and DP—works toward developing students who embody these attributes and continually strive to improve themselves.
